Faculty and Grants Project Coordinator

The Grants Department provides all employees of ESMT Berlin with personalized information and consulting services on funding programs in the areas of research, teaching, and development at both national and international levels. Additionally, it supports funded projects in the management and administration of grant resources.

Faculty and Grants Project Coordinator (AvH Professorship)
(m/f/x, full-time, starting in April 2026, limited to 5 years or until project end)

and help shape the future by bringing your expertise and passion to ESMT.

How you will make a difference

  • Collaborate closely with the Alexander von Humboldt professor and contribute to the successful implementation of grant-funded activities within the European Expectations Center (EEC)
  • Manage the administrative and financial aspects of the project in line with the requirements and procedures of the grant agency
  • Oversee budget management and project administration, including processing of expenses, contract management, financial controlling, funding claims, and preparation of scientific and financial reports
  • Provide organizational and administrative support to the professor and the center team including coordination of research events, business travel, staff onboarding, and project meetings
  • Assist with communication to promote and disseminate project outcomes
  • Act as a central point of contact between research, faculty and administrative units

What makes you a great fit

  • You have experience in office or research management. Experience in third-party funding administration, as well as basic knowledge of the German and international research funding landscape, is an advantage.
  • You enjoy working in a structured and conceptual manner and possess strong organizational skills and a high level of service orientation.
  • You have a quick grasp of new concepts and are able to independently and efficiently familiarize yourself with new areas of responsibility.
  • You approach tasks with dedication, a results-oriented mindset, and initiative, while being a strong team player with excellent organizational skills.
  • Communication is one of your strengths—both written and verbal in German and English, across all hierarchical levels.
  • You are proficient in using common MS Office tools.
