Instructional Technologist/ Media Designer
(m/f/x, full-time - 40 h/week, to start as soon as possible)
You will
- Collaborate with Learning Innovation Lab colleagues and key stakeholders to research, test, and integrate learning technologies and processes that support innovative and effective teaching and learning methods
- Conduct user testing, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to learning technologies used by various stakeholders (faculty, learners, staff)
- Create high quality multimedia learning content, including videos, animations, graphical assets that align with pedagogical best practices
- Develop high-quality video, audio, and graphic content to support digital learning initiatives:
- Pre-Production: Collaborate with learning designers, faculty, and clients to develop media content, determine the best media formats, provide technical support for learning platforms, and consult on media solutions for executive education.
- Production: Set up and manage filming environments, operate equipment to capture high-quality footage, and ensure consistency and reliability in production outputs.
- Post-Production: Oversee editing, ensure continuity from scripts/storyboards, and create final media outputs with dialogues, graphics, and effects following style guidelines.
- Collaborate with the team to provide one-on-one consultations, workshops, training sessions, and develop manuals and guidelines for learning technology use
- Help the team maintaining materials and documentation on our learning technologies up to date
- Consult, train and support faculty and program teams on video creation software and our hosting platform (Panopto). This includes managing an asset library, providing feedback to users, and performing edits and corrections when needed
- Evaluate the impact of technology-enhanced learning solutions and iterate based on data and user feedback
- Research and trial new digital learning tools, particularly AI-driven and extended reality (VR/XR) applications, to enhance online and hybrid business education.
As an Instructional Technologist/Media Designer, you will play an active role in university groups and committees focused on learning technology and media design. You will also stay informed of the latest research and advancements in learning technology and media design theories, principals, and practices related to technology-based learning in higher education and beyond in order to continuously improve and provide exceptional support for digital learning experiences.
You are qualified for this position, because you have
Preferred experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in instructional design, educational technology, multimedia design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, D2L) and APIs, SCORM, and LTI standards
- Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users
- Experience with media production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Figma, Canva)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio, including experience with editing software and graphic design packages
- Solid experience in all aspects of media production, pre-production and post-production, with demonstrable expertise in camera operation, grip, and sound.
- Native-level or equivalent English (C1/C2)
- Proactive, agile and collaborative working style
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired experience
- Experience with AI-driven tools and interest in VR/XR applications
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Standards and Guidelines
