ESMT’s Learning Innovation Lab provides support to ESMT’s programs for online and technology-enhanced learning, explores entrepreneurial projects and participates in thought leadership on learning innovation internally and externally.

To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a

Lead Learning Designer
(m/f/x, full-time - 40 h/week, to start in July/August 2024)

You will

  • Lead the learning design team to work with key stakeholders across the organization to execute design on digital offerings, inclusive of training that supports excellence in learning design
  • Advise the Learning Innovation Lab Director on the strategic, tactical and operational issues with current and future learning design practices and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Learning Innovation Lab Director and Leads on determining the standards, policies and practices for  learning design across the school’s portfolio of technology-enhanced programs
  • Act as a learning design consultant during the development of new technology enhanced programs
  • Assess the effectiveness of learning experiences, design and development processes, and identifies and implements opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Learning Innovation Lab Director and Senior Project Manager to oversee learning design team capacity and project allocation
  • Create and maintain quality standards for technology enhanced course development and ensures consistency of existing and new courses for quality
  • Support the design, development, and delivery of workshops and presentations for instructors and staff on topics related to learning design
  • Develop training materials and documentation for teaching and course-delivery teams
  • Recruit, onboard and mentor the learning design team

As a Lead Learning Designer, you will play an active role in university groups and committees focused on technology-enhanced teaching and learning. You will also stay informed of the latest research and advancements in learning design theories, principals, and practices related to technology-based learning in higher education and beyond in order to continuously improve and provide exceptional support for digital learning experiences.

You are qualified for this position, because you have

  • Expertise in online and blended learning design in the education industry with a preference for higher education (at least 7 years), and experience in a team lead role (at least 4 years)
  • Experience in a lead role in all phases of one or more organization-wide learning and development projects
  • Ability to review and evaluate learning modules for effectiveness
  • Ability to take initiative, influence others, and lead peers and external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and drive them to completion
  • Intellectual curiosity to explore a range of management and business-related subjects
  • Collegial attitude to collaborating and sharing knowledge, challenges, and ideas for improvements related to learning experiences and design practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative design skills and proficiency in tools such as Adobe Suite or similar
  • Knowledge and experience with Web Content Accessibility Standards and Guidelines
  • Native-level or equivalent English (C1/C2)
