DEEP - Institute for Deep Tech Innovation - is ESMT’s innovation hub dedicated to amplifying our ecosystem’s ability to generate and scale science-based businesses. We empower scientists to commercialize technologies, support deep tech startups to scale internationally and connect leading research organizations to connect with the startup and innovation ecosystem effectively.

DEEP is running targeted and ambitious activities in the fields of Healthcare and Natural Capital. In 2024, we will expand our operations to Next Generation Computing and therefore are seeking to hire a

Venture Manager

“Next Generation Computing”

(m/f/x, full-time, to start as soon as possible)

• be responsible for recruiting and selecting the most promising (future) deep tech startups
• be the primary point of contact for the continuous interaction with entrepreneurs and startups to create outstanding program experiences
• be a strong everyday promoter of our programs in the startup and innovation ecosystem
• support session operations of our programs with a hands-on mentality
• collaborate with the international team and network of the Creative Destruction Lab on special projects to expand our activities, explore new partnerships, and continuously improve the CDL program

• thrive in startup-like environments where “building” is more important than “managing”, “executing” beats “conceptualizing” and uncertainty might surround you
• have a track record at the intersection of entrepreneurship / innovation and high-performance computing / quantum computing / artificial intelligence  / or similar
• have initial experience in managing teams
• are familiar with the operations of startup accelerators, incubators, mentoring programs and alike
• have managed complex stakeholder environments through strong service orientation and very good communication skills
• are well-organized, able to multi-task, and meet deadlines while paying attention to details
• are fluent in spoken and written English
• are flexible regarding working hours and able to stay calm in stressful situations
