Team Lead - Learning Center Tech

As Team Lead for the Learning Center Tech team, you will work with a team of experienced and dedicated media/event technicians and IT specialist to shape the backbone of our technical infrastructure for modern learning and event experiences, both hybrid and remote. You will ensure that our international students, executives, and corporate clients can rely on state-of-the-art technology and receive top-notch technical support to enable exceptional learning and event experiences.
To support our Learning Center Tech team, we are looking for a/n
Team Lead - Learning Center Tech (m/w/d, full-time (40h/week), to start as soon as possible)
Your key responsibilities include
- Overall responsibility for the technical concept for our Learning Center (campus), encompassing video, audio, and conferencing technology integrated with IT components, tailored to the needs of auditoriums, seminar rooms, and meeting spaces in an academic environment. The goal is to provide modern media technology solutions to support teaching, learning, and events.
- Leading the current four-person team, including staff appraisals, goal setting, vacation planning and approval, scheduling, as well as regular training and development.
- Budget responsibility for campus and event technology, ensuring appropriate equipment for teaching and event operations.
- Technical preparation and support for events, with a special focus on supporting teaching sessions and executive education programs for students, executives, and corporate partners.
- Planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of media technology systems and devices in auditoriums, seminar rooms, and meeting spaces with the support from external service providers.
- Close collaboration with professors, program directors, and organizers to meet technical requirements, providing daily support and troubleshooting, as well as conducting training sessions to ensure effective system use.
- With more teaching and learning spaces now in the planning stage and set to be constructed, support our campus expansion by developing and implementing cutting-edge media technology concepts for teaching and events. This includes planning, tendering, and overseeing projects in close collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Ideally, contribute to ensuring safety standards in event technology in accordance with MVStättVO, regulations, and DGUV guidelines. While not a must, familiarity with these guidelines would be an advantage.
Your Profile
- Qualification in event, sound, and video technology with at least five years of professional experience, ideally comparable to the qualification of a Meister für Veranstaltungstechnik.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and experience with Zoom/MS Teams and Crestron media controls are advantageous.
- Fluent English skills (business language is English) and German, as many providers and stakeholders communicate primarily in German. Solid general IT knowledge.
- Strong customer orientation with a positive "can-do" attitude and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Leadership experience is an advantage; strong team and communication skills are highly desirable. Organizational talent, flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
- Interest in staying up-to-date with developments and trends in audio and video technology, particularly to enhance teaching and learning environments, as well as a willingness for continuous professional development.
- Missing skills can be acquired through on-the-job training and personal development programs.
