Our annual summit convenes select, high level participants for candid exchanges on equal terms and in interactive formats. Participants of the Summit are Heads of State and Government, Ministers, and CEOs from more than 100 countries, and have included in the past President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and French President Emmanuel Macron. Founded by ESMT Professor Lars-Hendrik Röller, former Chief Economic Advisor to Chancellor Angela Merkel and G7 & G20 Sherpa, Berlin Global Dialogue is embedded in ESMT Berlin and the annual summit takes place at the historic campus in the heart of Berlin.
To strengthen our Berlin Global Dialogue team, we are looking for a
Social Media and Content Officer
(m/f/x, part-time (20-25h), to start as soon as possible, 1-year contract with possibility to extend).
How you will make a difference
The Social Media & Content Officer is working closely with the Media & Communications Manager to support the implementation of the overall communications strategy for Berlin Global Dialogue.
Social Media and Digital Presence
- Coordinate the LinkedIn presence of Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD), the Chairman, and the Managing Directors by creating high-quality, relevant content and driving audience growth
- Create compelling, creative and thought-provoking digital content with a focus on LinkedIn, as well as Thought Leadership E-Mails with the goal to increase reach, engagement, and follower growth across BGD channels
- Develop and manage comprehensive social media calendars
- Create and design compelling social media assets that align with the BGD brand
- Prepare monthly performance reports to track engagement, growth, and content effectiveness
- Maintain, update, and continuously improve the BGD website and conference app
Content Development
- Research topics, prepare interview questions, and conduct interviews for BGD content series; distribute content across social media channels and the website
- Write, coordinate, design, and send the BGD Quarterly Newsletter
- Further develop BGD content formats to strengthen BGD’s digital presence and thought leadership
- Develop and execute the social media and content strategy for the BGD annual summit, collaborating closely with the production company to manage the creation of video content
- Create and execute the social media content for BGD Young Voices
- Develop and execute the social media content for the BGD side events throughout the year.
What makes you a great fit
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and current digital communication trends, with a proven track record of building and engaging audiences
- Creatively eager to build content that stands out and a proven track record to do so
- Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite), design tools (Canva, InDesign, Photoshop), and web design tools (e.g., Figma, Webflow); experience collaborating with web designers is a plus
- Excellent English writing skills, with the ability to translate complex political, economic, and global issues into clear and engaging content
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with social media metrics to evaluate performance and inform content decisions
- Basic knowledge of SEO and digital content optimization to enhance reach and visibility
- Experience managing websites or CMS systems, including coordinating technical or design updates
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently
- Experience developing content strategies for events, thought-leadership platforms, or digital campaigns is a plus.
