Join our team at the newly established European Expectations Center, under the leadership of Professor Michael Weber, PhD and sponsored by the Humboldt Professorship as a
Postdoctoral Researcher (gn)
(full-time, 40 hrs./week, starting in July 2026, 3 years, renewable once for up to 6 years)
and help shape the future by bringing your expertise and passion to ESMT.
How youll make a difference
- Contribute to the Center’s internationally visible research agenda
- Conduct independent research in the areas of belief formation in macroeconomics and finance
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate pre-doctoral research assistants
- Actively participate in the strategic development of the research program
- Present research findings at national and international conferences
- Contribute to the preparation of grant applications
- No teaching obligations
What makes you a great fit
- Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a related field by the start date
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent empirical and/or theoretical research on the formation and role of subjective beliefs in economic decision-making
- Experience with methods for working with unstructured data
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis
- Prior experience running information-provision experiments embedded in surveys is a plus
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous but not required
