Program Manager - Berlin Global Dialogue

Berlin Global Dialogue unites global leaders from business, government, and academia to jointly develop solutions for the most pressing economic and geopolitical challenges. The annual summit convenes selected high-level participants for candid, eye-level exchanges in interactive formats that aim to highlight diverse perspectives and to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration. The inaugural Berlin Global Dialogue in 2023 was attended by more than 500 guests, including Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President of the European Council Charles Michel, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink as well as other heads of state, ministers, and business leaders from over 60 nations. Berlin Global Dialogue has been founded by ESMT Professor Lars-Hendrik Röller, former Chief Economic Advisor to Chancellor Angela Merkel and G7 & G20 Sherpa, and is embedded in ESMT Berlin.

To support the Berlin Global Dialogue team, we are looking for a

Program Manager
(m/f/x, full-time, to start as soon as possible, 1-year contract with possibility to extend)

You will

  • Drive the development of sessions for the annual summit by conducting research, identifying key areas of debate, consulting relevant stakeholders, and writing concise session outlines.
  • Develop and coordinate the program overview and maintain all program related documents up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with BGD partners, experts, and moderators to contribute to the development of a relevant and engaging program.
  • Identify and secure high-level speakers from the private and public sector for the annual Berlin Global Dialogue summit as well as other Berlin Global Dialogue events.
  • Create speaker and moderator briefings, coordinate logistics, and ensure effective communication with speakers and moderators throughout the process.
  • Manage and drive the delivery of the BGD Young Voices program.
  • Conduct research and develop materials for other Berlin Global Dialogue events as needed.

You are qualified for this position because you

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher and relevant working experience in international relations, economics, or public policy. Experience in developing conference programs is an asset.
  • Have an excellent understanding of international politics, decision-making processes, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Are able to dive into a range of different topics, identify key areas of debates, and summarize core arguments in a concise manner.
  • Have demonstrated experience working with high-level stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong writing skills in English and German and ability to produce high-quality policy papers.
  • Are highly organized, detail-oriented and able to drive projects independently.
  • Have a keen interest in working at the intersection of politics, business, and academia.
  • Can thrive in a dynamic environment and to adapt to changing priorities.
