Freelance Research Assistant - Sustainability Analytics (m/w/x)

Climate change mitigation proves a complex challenge, where the use of complex models of analysis and vast amounts of data and information sources are required. In this novel sustainability analytics research project, we will explore how greenhouse gas emissions of a company will look like under different scenarios.

To support our team, we are looking for a Freelance Research Assistant (full-time / part-time, to start as soon as possible)

You will

  • work closely with the project manager Joanna Radeke and a faculty member Prof. Catalina Stefanescu-Cuntze
  • support the development of relevant internal and external factors for the scenario modelling
  • support the data collection
  • assist in developing methodology for the scenario modelling
  • be solely responsible for implementation of the developed methodology of the scenario modelling

We anticipate that the implementation of the developed methodology will be done using software solutions embedded in Excel, although coding in specific analytical solutions such as R or Python may also be required.

Project scope

  • From November 2021 until January 2022, we require a part-time time commitment of about 16 hours per week.
  • From February until March 2022, in the implementation of the methodology stage of the project, we may need a time commitment of about 30 hours a week.
  • In April 2022, you will assist with the results dissemination in a part-time capacity.

 

You are qualified for this position, because you

  • are a PhD or an advanced MA level student (e.g. in the field of economics)
  • have experience in data collection and development of methodology
  • have advanced Excel skills
  • have advanced statistical skills
  • have some coding experience in Python or the R environment
  • are able to lead on the implementation of the methodology using Excel/ other statistical tool
