Program Manager – Social Impact
(m/f/x, part-time 20 h/week, to start as soon as possible)

The position is initially funded by the ESMT Circle of Friends for a period of three years. 

The position is based in the school’s International Office. The post-holder will focus on four distinct program areas, working in conjunction with existing degree program managers, donors, accounting team, and directly with students themselves:
 

Your main tasks will be

  • Management of the curricular Social Impact Projects (SIP) in the Master in Management (MIM) and MBA programs
    • Curricular organization of the projects, including organization of internal information events, and coordinating on program delivery with the academic module coordinator
    • Preparation of funding requests to donors, and facilitating payments from donors to participating teams
    • Working with external bodies (such as Vali Berlin) to identify and secure new opportunities
  • Responsible Leaders Fellowship management (MIM and MBA programs)
    • Liaising with existing and potential project partners, and maintaining a project database
    • Presenting the program and potential project opportunities to students
    • Selecting, ranking and approving Fellowship requests, and coordinating funding requests with ESMT’s Circle of Friends (Freunde und Förderer)
    • Donor stewardship and reporting to funders; managing the reimbursement process for Fellows
  • Industry Immersion Africa (IIA) program management
    • Managing the academic partnership between ESMT and Industry Immersion Africa (AIMS)
    • Coordinating the development/redevelopment of online materials with the EdTech team
    • Working with ESMT EdTech interns (funded by FuF) to deliver the program sessions
  • Donor management and reporting across social impact programs
    • Managing the relationship between ESMT’s Circle of Friends and the Programs team, including participation in relevant Friends’ board meetings to present on funded initiatives
    • With the ESMT Development team, identifying and building relationships with other foundations and sources of funding, such as DAAD

You are qualified because you

  • Can demonstrate a passion for social impact through past engagement
  • Are a relationship builder, have a hands-on attitude and a good sense of humor
  • Can work independently and don’t need precise instructions to do your job well
  • Are detail-oriented and can show experience in delivering high quality services, processes and outcomes
  • Can communicate clearly and passionately in English with a wide range of different stakeholders
  • Able to create, interpret, evaluate, and enforce policy and procedural requirements
  • Able to negotiate and manage financial targets and budgets
  • Fluent in English. German is not required for this role.
