Director of Business Development and Marketing

For our newly formed programs department, we are looking for a
Director of Business Development and Marketing (full-time).

The Director Business Development and Marketing leads the marketing and sales function for all programs (both degree and executive education), managing B2B sales, B2C marketing and recruitment, as well as the admissions teams. Given the importance of executive education to ESMT, it is expected that the post holder will take an active role in structuring and managing a key account strategy, coordinating a system of key account managers drawn mainly from the executive education program director team.

The post holder has direct responsibility for all aspects of marketing and communications for degree (early career, accelerator and leadership) and executive education programs.

You will

  • Develop and implement a program marketing strategy consistent with a top-tier international business school, providing content and positioning ideas to directors of program clusters (Early Careers, Career Accelerator, Leadership Development and Customized) and the Dean of Programs
  • Configure individual program sales and marketing plans, adapting the approach from early career degree through to custom executive education according to target customers. You will measure the performance of all activities and campaigns, assess them against goals, and adjust tactics when necessary - providing ongoing reporting, developing actionable insights, testing and learning – and conducting thorough analyses on marketing ROI and introducing new cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop and manage a robust key account management and customer engagement strategy across all B2B clients and targets (note that the allocation of key accounts to individuals in B2B will be done by the Director for Customized Programs)
  • Support all teams with the production of appropriate marketing collateral, including program websites, social media campaigns, microsites, admissions portals, videos, brochures, games, etc. Given the nature of ESMT’s business, a specific focus on content marketing is expected.
  • Use the school’s Salesforce CRM system and ensure appropriate usage across all departments; ensure optimization with FullFabric (the school’s admissions software solution), as well as with any initiatives from the alumni relations and development teams
  • Together with the directors of the program clusters, agree program intake targets and ensure admissions team and processes are set up to achieve enrollment targets. Manage all aspects of the admissions process, including optimization of the admissions function in degree programs and developing appropriate processes for enrollment and conversion in executive education open programs, ensuring all systems and structures fulfil legal and accreditation requirements. Ensures that sufficient resources are allocated to lead conversion, including building and managing a pool of interviewers where required
  • Develop new program ideas for each market segment, determining appropriate positioning according to specific enrollment targets and together with the Dean of Programs, the directors of the program clusters and the Program Directors
  • Provide guidance on and support for communications to alumni and corporate partners

You are qualified for this position, because you

  • Can develop and sell a portfolio of educational programs across the entire life cycle of learners
  • Build and develop a key account management strategy in B2B service sales, including implementing appropriate customer segmentation techniques
  • Develop digital content marketing strategies to reach new audiences for the service industry, preferably education
  • Have hands on experience with major CRM systems, such as Salesforce
  • An intimate understanding of digital marketing, including the development of SEO/SEM strategies
  • Empathic people development skills and experience in a leadership role
