Learning Designer

ESMT’s Learning Innovation Lab provides support to ESMT’s programs for online and technology-enhanced learning, explores entrepreneurial projects and participates in thought leadership on learning innovation internally and externally.

To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a

Learning Designer
(m/f/x, part-time - 20 h/week, to start in May 2023)

You will

Design high-quality online and technology-enhanced learning experiences in collaboration with subject matter experts, media designers, and learning technologists

Coordinate the development of module content within the Learning Innovation Lab
Develop learning outcomes and create engaging learning activities and compelling module content that matches them
Outline, storyboard, and build digital learning experiences using instructional graphics, web content, and media

Consult on and support effective and impactful delivery of online and technology-enhanced learning

Brief and support academic staff on the delivery of online modules
Collaborate on the guidance, demonstrations, and training provided to academic staff on the use of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
Work with academic staff and other relevant colleagues to oversee the efforts of learning technologists, teaching assistants, and contractors

Evaluate, redevelop, and repurpose online and blended learning materials

Oversee and coordinate the review and evaluation of the effectiveness of online materials and modules
Review and amend module content post-delivery to ensure consistency and alignment with our learning design approach and templates
Maintain project documentation and module structures/folders

As a Learning Designer, you will play an active role in university groups and committees focused on technology-enhanced teaching and learning. You will also stay informed of the latest advancements in learning technologies in higher education and beyond in order to continuously improve and provide exceptional support for learning technologies.

You are qualified for this position, because you have

Expertise in online and blended learning design, with the ability to provide instructional design services to internal and external subject matter experts and partners/clients
Ability to review and evaluate learning modules for effectiveness
Ability to take initiative, influence others, and lead peers and external partners
Ability to manage multiple projects and drive them to completion
A passion for using technology in education
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Knowledge of current trends and practices in technology-enhanced learning
Creative design skills and proficiency in tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator or similar
Native-level or equivalent English (C1/C2) , and German language proficiency is desirable
Knowledge of business studies and experience with technical development tools and new learning technologies are desirable
