
Student Services Manager

For our program services and operations team, we are looking for a
Student Services Manager
(m/f/x, 20h/week, to start in August 2023)
As student services manager you will report to the director of program services and operations and will be responsible for cross-program student services by supporting students before and during their ESMT study program and promoting an environment that is responsive to student needs.
Your tasks include
Relocation and on- and off-boarding
- Provide assistance with international or domestic relocation (visa and residence permit applications for students and their families, Bürgeramt registration, health insurance, bank accounts, housing, childcare, etc.)
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with the Berliner immigration authorities and the German Embassies worldwide
- Liaise with health insurance companies to insure students, keep records of student health insurance
- Liaise with housing providers, identify collaboration opportunities
- Manage the enrollment process of admitted students (incl. issuing of confirmation of enrollment, student IDs, keep track of health insurance, etc.)
- Inform students about social security and immigration regulations relevant for working students and interns
- Administer US student loans and GI Bill processes
Campus life
- Plan and facilitate Orientation Week activities, in close cooperation with program offices
- Develop and manage student clubs and organizations to meet the diverse needs of the degree programs
- Coordinate and support student club events, evaluate student event proposals and funding applications
You are qualified for this position, because you
- Have three years’ experience in managing student activities, programs or services, or a combination of experience that demonstrates the abilities to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the role
- Have outstanding communication skills and experience working with a diverse group of students
- Have demonstrated passion for providing high-quality service, process and outcomes with attention to detail and excellent follow through
- Facilitate effective collaboration, innovation and creativity among faculty, students and ESMT staff
- Are an excellent team player, have a hands-on working attitude, a good sense of humor and the ability to keep calm in turbulent phases. The ability to work outside of normal business hours when necessary
- Are fluent in English and communicate on at least B2 level in German
- Have knowledge of the German Residence act and the procedures applied by the immigration authorities in Berlin as well as the German embassies abroad is a plus (desirable)
